Hong Kong players advance in Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026

(Hong Kong) - Organised by F-Sports Promotions Limited, title-sponsored by Hang Seng Bank, and supported by the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association, the “PPA Asia 1500, Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026” (the “Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam”) will take place from 19 to 25 October at the Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park. Day 1 featured the Qualification Rounds, with several Hong Kong players successfully advancing to the Main Draw.

Delivering strong performances on home soil, Athena Leung sealed her place in the Women's Singles Main Draw after triumphing over a fellow local competitor. In Men's Doubles, Hong Kong duos Angus Lee/ Andy Lee and Derek To/ Henry Kwan both advanced. Women's Doubles saw Ying Suet Lam and her Chines mainland partner Yunqi He claim victories against a China-Malaysia team and an Australian pair. Meanwhile, Ryan Lam and Yunqi He also earned their spots in the Mixed Doubles Main Draw.

Round of 64 will kick off on 20 October (Tue), leading the home charge for Hong Kong are Hong Kit Wong and Nok Yiu Tang. Bringing together 895 players aged 9 to 71 from 22 countries and regions—including all top six men’s and women’s world-ranked players—the tournament highlights its world-class prestige as it writes a new chapter in the development of pickleball in Hong Kong.

The venue features a dedicated fan zone, "PICKLETOWN," offering free admission to the public. Visitors can explore various themed booths selling professional pickleball gear and official event merchandise, with special opportunities to meet their favourite stars during autograph sessions. Whether you are a seasoned player or new to the sport, PICKLETOWN offers something for everyone to enjoy.
