'Les Miserables' The World Tour spectacle announces a truly international cast for limited Manila season

Cameron Mackintosh, in association with Nick Grace Management and GMG Productions, are delighted to announce initial casting for Boublil and Schönberg’s long-awaited 

LES MISÉRABLES THE WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR at The Theatre at Solaire from 20 January to 1 March 2026.

LES MISÉRABLES THE WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR brings together a talented company of acclaimed West End and Broadway performers with Gerónimo Rauch (Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar) as Jean Valjean, Jeremy Secomb (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) as Javert and acclaimed Filipino talents Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends) as Madame Thénardier, Rachelle Ann Go (Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, Hamilton) as Fantine; Red Concepción (Miss Saigon, West Side Story, Hairspray) as Thénardier and Emily Bautista (Les Misérables, Miss Saigon) as Éponine.

Filipino performers Salonga, Go, Concepción, and Bautista continue the proud legacy of Filipino excellence on the world stage.

More Filipinos also join the cast after local auditions were held in Manila. 

They are joined by Will Callan as Marius, Lulu-Mae Pears as Cosette, Harry Chandler as Enjolras and Earl Carpenter as the Bishop of Digne.

Gerónimo Rauch previously played Jean Valjean in Les Misérables both in the West End and Spain. His further credits include the role of The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera in the West End and Madrid, as well as Robert Kincaid in The Bridges of Madison County, Rob Jeremy Cole in The Physician, Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard, Mary Sunshine in Chicago and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, all in Spain. Gerónimo has also toured with his own music across Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay.

Jeremy Secomb’s West End credits include Javert in Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and most recently Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, which he also starred in on Broadway. His many other theatre credits include Sister Act in London and on tour, and Sweeney Todd in the London and New York revival of Sweeney Todd, at Harrington’s Pie and Mash Shop.

Lea Salonga has previously played the roles of both Éponine and Fantine in Les Misérables on Broadway and appeared as Éponine in the 10th Anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall and as Fantine in the 25th Anniversary concert at the O2. She created the role of Kim in Miss Saigon in both the West End and on Broadway, receiving the Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance. Lea’s recent Broadway credits include Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, Here Lies Love and Once on This Island. Lea is the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the animated film Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan II, as well as Celine in K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Rachelle Ann Go has previously played Fantine in Les Misérables in the West End and Gigi in Miss Saigon on Broadway and in the West End. She also appeared as Gigi in the filmed 25th Anniversary version of Miss Saigon. She played Eliza Hamilton in the West End premiere of Hamilton and most recently reprised the role on the Hamilton International Tour, as well as returning as Fantine for the Les Misérables Arena Tour to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Rachelle’s additional theatre credits include Jane Porter in Tarzan and Ariel in The Little Mermaid, both in Manila. Her recordings include A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes for Disney Asia and Miss Saigon: The Definitive Live Recording for Cameron Mackintosh Ltd.

Red Concepción previously played the role of Thénardier in Les Misérables at The Muny, St. Louis Municipal Opera Theatre. His further theatre credits include Amos Hart in Chicago on Broadway, The Engineer in Miss Saigon on tour across the US and the UK and Ireland and Adam/ Felicia in Priscilla: Queen of the Desert in Manila and Singapore, for which he won both the Gawad Buhay Award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Musical and Aliw Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Red’s Manila credits include Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Caredivas, Equus, Secret Garden, The Normal Heart, Hamlet, Altar Boyz, The Fantasticks, Annie, Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady and Rivalry.

Emily Bautista returns to the Les Misérables world tour as Éponine, a role she previously played in the North American Tour of Les Misérables. Her theatre credits include the role of Kim in Miss Saigon for the North American Tour, having also understudied and played the role on Broadway, as well as Do You Hear The People Sing? at The Hollywood Bowl and the world premiere of Vanara at the Hackney Empire.

The LES MISÉRABLES THE WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR cast is completed by Jonathon Bentley, Georgina Blessitt, Amelia Broadway, Michael Burgen, Mary Jean Caldwell, Rosy Church, Gabrielle Cummins, Beth Curnock, Shaun Dalton, Jade Davies, Jonathan David Dudley, Harry Dunnett, Louis Emmanuel, Charlie Geoghegan, Connor Jones, Abel Law, Adam Robert Lewis, Andrew Maxwell, Jil Nalder, Lisa Peace, Emma Ralston, Ciaran Rodger, James Sillman, Harry Grant Smith, Jo Stephenson, Geddy Stringer, Helen Walsh, and Owain Williams.

Filipino talent will not only shine through its actors but also through the musicians who perform the show’s powerful score on stage. The production will feature a large ensemble of musicians, both Filipino and international, performing Claude-Michel Schönberg’s sweeping and unforgettable music live. Among them are Filipino musicians John Gerald Calma, Dino Decena, Mary Anne Espina, Fransisco Llorin, Mhaze Lim, Jonathan Livioco, Dondon Lucena, Luke Manuel, Kier Manimtim, Marloe Maruyama, Gabriel Mendoza, Paul Ramos, Coi Reyes, Steve Retallick, Raymond Sarreal, Jordan San Jose, and Miko Villena.

LES MISÉRABLES THE WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR is expanded from the hugely successful Les Misérables The Staged Concert, which played for over 200 record-breaking performances in the West End. It features an extraordinary new design and an electrifying production enhanced with new set and lighting designs, bringing Cameron Mackintosh’s critically acclaimed production to life on a scale never seen before in Manila, with a company and crew of over 110, including an international all-star cast and a large ensemble of musicians, both Filipino and international, performing live on stage.

Having opened to acclaim in the UK and Europe in September 2024, the production has continued to tour to countries and regions around the world, with over 1-million tickets having been sold worldwide so far. The tour has played to packed houses across 30 cities and broke box office records, most recently in Australia and Japan. It is currently playing its sold-out season in Shanghai, the longest single engagement of the tour, where performances sold out in hours each time tickets were released, and will then head to Manila and Singapore, where the response has already been phenomenal, before returning to Europe, where it will play London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall before heading to Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Les Misérables continues its record-breaking run at the Sondheim Theatre in London’s West End, with several other local language productions currently on or in preparation around the world.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of LES MISÉRABLES: WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. 

It has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, additional material by James Fenton, and adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. Orchestrations are by Stephen Metcalfe, Christopher Jahnke, and Stephen Brooker, with original orchestrations by John Cameron. 

The production is directed by James Powell and Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy, designed by Matt Kinley, with costumes by Andreane Neofitou, Christine Rowland, and Paul Wills, lighting by Paule Constable and Warren Letton, sound by Mick Potter, projections realized by Finn Ross, and music supervision by Stephen Brooker and Alfonso Casado Trigo. The Les Misérables orchestra is conducted by Adrian Kirk.
